MyRidz.com: Get out there™

Our Mission: Why we built this site

At the end of the movie "Finding Nemo," Marlon the clownfish Dad offers his son some sage advice - "Go have an adventure, son." The spirit of that advice is the reason for MYRIDZ.COM.

As two 50 year old bikers we discovered the most obvious of truths later in life - that riding motorcycles is far more fun than working. After several week end road trips that included lots of miles, much beer and tequila (after a day of riding), plenty of pool in local saloons, and the inevitable return to work on Monday, the idea of MYRIDZ.COM was born. We decided that we wanted to have more of these adventures - riding cool roads, visiting out of the way cool places and meeting weird, interesting and cool people.

On MYRIDZ.COM we tell you about our rides and you tell us about yours. Then we can all "test drive" these knowing something about the cool roads, places and people along the way in advance. Any ride is a good ride for MYRIDZ.COM whether it is a two hour weekend loop you like, or the two day get away from it all ride with your buddies. All rides are welcome on MYRIDZ.COM.

Don't let us have all the fun. Get out there and have an adventure. Just make sure you tell us about it on this site. See you out there!

Total nut case, devoted father and husband, smart ass, opinionated, A.D.D., fun loving, big picture guy who loves nothing more than taking a hard ride on Ortega Highway on his 2003 Aprilia Mille RSV, then throwing the surfboard in the truck and heading to San Onofre or Salt Creek to ride some waves with his daughter.

He is the oldest of six kids from an Irish Catholic family in New York City - shocking, huh? He now lives in Laguna, CA. That's so I can ride year around.

Why start up this website? Working a regular job is getting in the way of riding my other bikes - my Yamaha FJR1300, Honda CBRXX, BMW R1200C, and Harley Heritage Softail - more often!

It all started innocently enough (as it often does). It was the spring of 1975 and I had just bought my first bike, a used Honda CB 350. It was red, had a little sissy bar, and we were a match made in heaven. Rode that trusty little bike hard and have been hooked ever since. Along the way, it's been more Hondas, as well as Nortons, Triumphs, BMWs, and Harleys.

Still get a kick out of that rush I get every time that engine fires up under me. Hey, why stop now? The bikes are getting better all the time! Luckily I have an understanding wife and kids, who have come to conclusion that it's good for all concerned when I occasionally disappear for a few days at a time to hit the rod - coming back with a big grin and lots of tall tales.

Get out there - often. See you on the road!
